I'm a one woman operation based in Vancouver New York, handcrafting sites for people, organizations, and companies with a passion for change. I'm a front-end girl, which means I focus on the more visible side of things, communicating through words, images, typography, and interaction.

I create clean, intuitive, and elegant sites that are easy to use and adhere to a number of buzzwords (give this list to your boss) - valid, semantic, tableless, progressively enhanced. What does all that jargon mean? It means that your sites work. The web is a dynamic medium, and it's hard to predict how your visitors might be viewing your site. From behind a company firewall with minimal browser capabilities, or at home with all the bells and whistles, the message is always delivered.

The world wide web, and the sites it consists of, are living things. Not quite like you and I are living, but in their own, digital way - evolving, growing, changing. This kind of dynamism means I can never be still, there are always new things to learn, and I love knowing I'll never know it all; it's definitely an exciting field to be a professional in.

I started freelancing in early 2008. Over the years I've held a number of positions, including Computer Information Systems Director, English teacher, and Game Tester. Each experience has given me the skills to not only build websites, but to help people understand the power of online communication and collaboration, to teach the basics of blogging and site maintenance, and to have fun in every endeavor.

I'm also an avid gamer, amateur photographer, and voracious reader. I like windmills, ducks, funny hats, and beer. Prior to Vancouver, I lived in Japan for four years, where I became smitten with Relax Bear and addicted to goya champuru.

Andrea Mignolo and some bricks

That's me, jumping around to some random dubstep. I use this photo on a number of social networks, so you might have seen it around...
